This includes wastewater discharges that are directed to the MDC s four water pollution control facilities: <br /> " MDC East Hartford WPCF located at 65 Pitkin St., East Hartford, CT 06108<br /> " MDC Hartford WPCF located at 240 Brainard Rd., Hartford, CT 06114<br /> " MDC Poquonock WPCF located at 1222 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, CT 06095<br /> " MDC Rocky Hill WPCF located at 80 Goff Brook Ln., Rocky Hill, CT 06067 <br /> MDC discharge approvals typically require 5 - 10 business days for issuance. Box 800<br /> Hartford, CT 06142</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"> <span >Types of DEP Wastewater General Permits the require approvals are:<br /> " Construction Dewatering Wastewater<br /> </span><span></span><span></span>" Food Processing Wastewater<br /> " Groundwater Remediation Wastewater<strong><span style="font-size: 11pt">*<br /> </span></strong> " Minor Boiler Blowdown Wastewater<br /> " Minor Printing and Publishing Wastewater<br /> " Miscellaneous Sewer Compatible Wastewater<br /> " Photographic Processing Wastewater<br /> " Swimming Pool Wastewater<br /> " Tumbling or Cleaning of Parts Wastewater<br /> " Vehicle Maintenance Wastewater<br /> " Water Treatment Wastewater<br /> " 454 or Transported Wastewater (see below) <br /> <span><strong> *Please note the MDC requires an additional maintenance fee for the discharge of remediated groundwater to the sanitary sewer.</strong> </span><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify"> <span>Go to the DEP website for their <a href="http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2709&q=324212&depNav_GID=1643#FogGP" target="_blank">Wastewater General Permit forms</a>. </span> </p> <h4 class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span ><strong>Overview For Acceptance of Transported Non-Domestic Wastewater and Sludges</strong></span></h4> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify"><a name="twws"></a> <span> On May 15, 2003, the Metropolitan District (MDC) 454 Plan was approved by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection under Title 22a of the Connecticut General Statutes to accept, store and treat certain non-domestic (i.e., commercial/industrial) wastewaters and sludges brought to ONLY the MDC Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility (HWPCF) by means of a DEP approved motor vehicle. The MDC HWPCF is located at 240 Brainard Rd., Hartford, CT 06114. HWPCF is the only MDC facility that accepts trucked wastewater but there are other Publically Owned Treatment Works (POTW) facilities in the state that accept trucked wastewater.<br /> The MDC 454 Plan discusses the procedures to accept transported non-domestic wastewaters and sludges at HWPCF, which are: 1) permitted by the DEP for treatment at the POTW, and 2) compatible with the wastewater treatment process.<br /> Individual facilities requesting approval to discharge transported non-domestic wastewater to the MDC s HWPCF shall obtain approval from the MDC Environment, Health and Safety Department prior to submitting the General Permit wastewater application to the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).<br /> MDC discharge approvals typically require 5 - 10 business days for issuance.
