The MDC maintains some of Connecticut's more
popular recreation areas, including
Lake McDonough and the
West Hartford Reservoirs and Reservoir 6. The District also manages
land along the West Branch of the
Farmington River, one of the largest tracts of open space in the
state. This stewardship includes the protection and management of
watershed
lands and natural resources, as well as making the area available for public recreation.
